4 Mar 2008 - P7 sleepover

P7 Sleepover

P7a and b are doing a sleepover in school to raise money for Cyrenians. Cyrenians is a charity for homeless people. We are sleeping in the school hall on Thursday the 6th of March.

We will spend a small amount of time out on the links to see if we truly can experience a small part if what it is like being homeless. We will take a sleeping bag a cup and a plate.  We will spend the night in the clothes we wear to the school at 9’oclock we will also spend the next day at school in the same clothes.

We will have a bowl of soup at night and in the morning we will have a piece of toast. We will then go outside to the school playground and try to collect some money to send away to cyrenians. They will help shelter, clothe and feed as many homeless people as possible.

It will be a lot of fun but there is a very serious message for us to learn from it too. Cyrenians own a farm that they use the food that they grow to feed the people that come to them for help.

It is nice that people that are sometimes thought to be nuisance are able to have someone to turn to.
